Position Summary:The KBC Student Assn. President is responsible for general management of the Association; oversees the development of the Associations goals and objectives, facilitates their implementation and ensures evaluation; responds to constituent requests; appoints non-elected committee chairperson upon approval of the Executive Board; chairs Executive Board and General Membership meetings; calls special meetings; represents the Association to the Coalition for Student Leaders and other groups; supports the Legislative Committee.


This position will preside over Executive Board and General Membership meetings.

Encourage participation in all levels of the Association.

Manage the Association utilizing shared leadership techniques and problem-solving skills.

Represent the Association to College and community groups.

Develop with the membership, annual goals and objectives, facilitating their implementation and evaluation.

Update Organization Plan.

Participate in annual budget preparation, establishment and implementation of budget policies and procedures and remain cognizant of financial status of accounts.

Become knowledgeable of University/College and Association policies and procedures.

Provides direct support to the Legislative Committee.

Participate in formal & informal leadership development, working with the Association advisor.


Increased understanding of self as a leader.

Satisfaction and recognition for contributions to the campus community.

Development of skills useful in future endeavors.

NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require

the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.
