Long Term Care Manager of Nursing and Quality Services

**Description:**

**Providence is calling a Long Term Care Manager of Nursing and Quality Services to Providence Kodiak Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.**

**In this position you will:**

+ Provide leadership helping every team member to understand and achieve resident centered care model in the long term care setting.

+ Demonstrate professional interpersonal and verbal skills when communicating with a wide variety of people from differing literacy levels, languages and cultures.

+ Use judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking action related to interviewing, hiring, transferring promotions, evaluating performance, overstaff, layoffs, disciplinary action and employee complaints and concerns.

+ Facilitate/participate in the annual development and implementation of the facility Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan, Facility Assessments, QAPI self-assessments, and Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs).

+ Model time management conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, accountability and responsibility.

**Qualifications:**

**Required qualifications for this position include:**

+ Current Alaska Registered Nurse license

+ Licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Alaska within 1 year of hire or when meeting eligibility

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

+ 2 years of recent clinical supervisory experience

+ Experience in Gerontological nursing

+ Knowledge of the principles and theory underlying Long-Term Care Practice

+ Ability to maintain legal records

**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**

+ Graduate of accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or Master's degree

+ Erotological Nursing Certification

+ Current Alaska Drivers license

+ Experience in nursing managementKnowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement

**About Kodiak Island Medical Center**

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC's long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
