Full-Time CLERK/DRIVER

HOMER CORPS FAMILY THRIFT STORE

Homer, Alaska


The Salvation Army's Homer, AK Family Thrift Store has an opening for a full-time Clerk/Driver. Under the general supervision of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager, this position will help support the day-to-day operations of the store functioning
as a cashier, stocking clerk, and truck driver as needed. The position will assist customers, help receive donations from the public, assist with donation pick-ups, and will be responsible for the appropriate removal of discarded materials out of the facility.
In addition, the position will help with basic on-going facility maintenance, including snow plowing in winter months.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. Starting rate is $9.84/hour.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE but are not limited to:

o Function as cashier as needed

o Sort, hang, tag, and price donations for sales floor

o Help receive donations from public, empty donation bin; test, minor fix, or discard as appropriate

o Manage all pick-ups in coordination with Store Manager

o Perform janitorial duties (sweeping, vacuuming, general cleanliness) and small facility "repair" jobs, as well as plowing snow

o Help maintain Corps vehicles in clean and proper operating condition


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

o High School diploma or equivalency

o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

o Organized with attention to detail; able to prioritize and work with flexible daily duties

o Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

o Ability to conduct self in professional manner while interacting with co-workers, volunteers, and general public who may be of diverse backgrounds and circumstances

o Ability to maintain integrity of confidential materials, communications, and activities

o Current Alaska driver's license and acceptable driving and criminal history background checks required
