Position Summary:Adjunct faculty position for the department.


100Design curriculum. Prepare lesson plans. Instruct students on area of expertise. Hold office hours, or be available for contact with students.Essential

Adjunct faculty position teaching course(s) for the Fall/Spring/Summer semester.

Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Rate of pay is negotiated by collectively bargained agreement and is paid on a per credit basis. Knowledge of accepted instruction methods. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Public speaking skills. Customer service skills.

Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the academic year from which instructors will be hired. Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students. Expertise and two years experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specific field.

Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in field related to the position. Doctorate degree in related field is preferred for upper division (300 and 400 level) courses.

Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis, according to the needs of that semester's schedule.
